FireEye Selected by AlwaysOn as an OnDC Top 100 Winner

Milpitas, Califorinia - Oct 12, 2009 – FireEye, Inc., the leader in malware protection systems, today announced it has been chosen by AlwaysOn as one of the OnDC Top 100 Winners in the Government and Security Services category. To compile the OnDC 100 List, AlwaysOn surveyed hundreds of venture investors, investment bankers and industry experts, receiving more than 400 nominations.

"It's no secret that technology and innovation are vital to bringing our country out of economic recession and transforming important sectors like energy and healthcare," said Tony Perkins, founder and CEO of AlwaysOn. "We congratulate the OnDC 100 for their success in introducing new tools, services, and systems to address the nation's top priorities."

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and the Obama administration has set cybersecurity as a top priority. Today's stealth malware and botnets exploit "Web 2.0" applications, rich online media, and social networks to infiltrate government agencies at all levels. Malicious software (malware) can be embedded into PDFs, online advertising networks, and Web emails to compromise computer systems and breach network security. Advanced intrusion attacks coupled with data theft payloads are now aggressively used to exfiltrate sensitive government data.

FireEye's unique use of virtual machines for security analysis enables the dynamic discovery of zero-day malware, botnets, and targeted attacks. FireEye has been deployed by state and federal government agencies to protect against inbound and outbound attacks and capture zero-day, polymorphic attacks on the wire. In addition, by linking into the Malware Analysis & Exchange (MAX) Network newly uncovered malware intelligence is shared amongst a global subscriber base to prevent the attack from penetrating other agency networks.

"Improving global cyber security requires the evolution of modern malware protection systems to mitigate cyber attacks seeking to steal, compromise, alter or completely destroy sensitive information," said Ashar Aziz, founder and CEO of FireEye, Inc. "Cyber attacks significantly impact commerce activities and have a detrimental impact on consumer confidence. We are incredibly honored that the AlwaysOn team has recognized our continued innovation and our commitment to contributing to the renewed and continued prosperity of the U.S."

The OnDC Top 100 companies will be honored at the AlwaysOn OnDC event on October 19th-21st at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington DC.
